Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 2026
1. No Personal Data Collection
Colit is designed with your privacy as the top priority. We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or location. We do not have access to the notes, code snippets, tasks, or study schedules you create within the app.
2. Your Data Stays on Your Device
All the content you create in Colit (such as your knowledge base, deep work timers, and analytics data) is stored locally on your computer.
- This data never leaves your device.
- We do not have servers that store your personal content.
- If you uninstall Colit or clear your device storage, this data may be deleted permanently because we do not have a backup copy.
3. Anonymous Technical Usage Data
To help us maintain the app and fix bugs, we use a tool called PostHog.
What it collects
It sends us anonymous signals when technical events happen, such as "App Installed," "Update Successful," or "Timer Started."
What it DOES NOT collect
It never sees what you type in your notes, your specific tasks, or any personally identifiable information.
This data is used solely to improve software performance and stability.
4. Third-Party Services
We use GitHub to distribute the application installer. When you download Colit from GitHub, their system may log basic download statistics (like a count of how many times the file was downloaded).
